The former Yarmouth CE Primary School was closed in December 2022 and the premises and associated land have been sold to the Yarmouth Community Foundation, a consortium of a local trust fund and the Maritime Archaeology Trust, who tendered an offer of £435K, £400K of which will go towards the refurbishment costs for the new Freshwater and Yarmouth School building. The bid has now been formally accepted and completion due shortly, and will see the Shipwreck Centre, currently at Arreton Barns, move to the site, which it will share with other facilities like a new scout & guide hut and affordable housing.
